Ken Loach ผู้กำกับได้สะท้อนแง่มุมเกี่ยวกับปัญหาด้านเชื้อชาติและผู้อพยพไว้อย่างน่าสนใจผ่าน Angie หญิงสาวชนชั้นแรงงานซึ่งโดนไล่ออกจากบริษัทรับจัดหางานแห่งหนึ่งด้วยความประพฤติไม่ดีในที่สาธารณะ Angie กลับพลิกวิกฤตให้เป็นโอกาสโดยการร่วมทีมกับโรส เพื่อนร่วมห้องจัดบริษัทจัดหางานของตนเองในครัว และด้วยผู้คนอพยพจำนวนมากที่ต้องการหางานทำ จึงทำให้ธุรกิจนี้ของสาวๆ ทั้งสองดูจะมีไปได้อีกไกล แต่จะดีจริงหรือหากธุรกิจนั้นรุ่งเรื่องได้เพราะใช้ประโยชน์จากต้องการหางานของผู้อพยพเหล่านี้
